New Year’s resolution

Some people gives up bad habits for New Year’s. I’ve chosen to start one up. I’ve only been to a handful of Arsenal games so the aim is, quite simply, to attend at least one match each month. This may sound like a perfectly healthy thing to do to the average person, but those of you who follow a sporting team will be familiar not only with that wonderfully horrible feeling you get at around 2.45pm on a Saturday, but also with the post defeat slump.

Living in the North means that the majority of these games will be away (Stoke in february, and Birmingham in March are already pencilled in), with the odd trip to the Emirates for Champions League and cup encounters thrown in for good measure. By the way, anyone tempted to call me an armchair supporter should watch a jumpy live internet stream where you see more of the word buffering than you do of football, before deciding who the “real” supporter is.
